Now that’s what we call a Democratic SWEEP! In the 2026 midterms, we won in red districts and states we haven’t won in a generation. We won over new voters, MAGA voters, unlikely voters, and virtually every demographic group.

And these wins don’t just feel good. Robust Democratic control of Congress means Democrats can provide a real check on the Trump administration and start delivering real change for Americans.

Make no mistake. We won because of YOU. Your calls, your knocks, your donations, your commitment to winning the highest impact races.

Since 2025, members of Swing Left’s community of more than 1 million people raised over $22.6 million to help elect Democrats. We knocked on 237K doors and made 1.5M phone calls, resulting in 80K conversations with voters located in swing districts and swing states to help Democrats win the 2026 midterms. Swing Left volunteers also wrote more than 490K Vote Forward letters to voters and took 34K actions boosting pro-democracy content online.

Through Ground Truth, you helped build a new, innovative way for Democrats to do voter contact. It’s people-powered and grounded in showing up early, listening deeply, and gathering rich, textured insights that can help campaigns and party committees improve their messaging and outreach strategies. The work you did this cycle will be reflected in elections for years to come.

Our volunteers had many powerful voter conversations this year. These voters, and many more, were reached by people like you—who each made a choice to take action this year to help create the future you want to see.

Behind every dollar and conversation are people.

A dad in Columbus who spoke to a volunteer who knocked on his door with his own two kids, aged three and one. The voter shared that his son is on the autism spectrum, and getting him the services he needs is a constant struggle. He said he works 12-hour days and still can't get by. He always votes because he sees it as his duty to his kids. But he doesn't follow politics and hadn't decided on the Senate race. After talking about Republican cuts to education and Sherrod Brown's record for working families, the voter told Matt Sherrod Brown is the kind of person he wants in the Senate.

A voter who teaches English as a second language in California's Central Valley. She talked with one of our volunteers about prices, underfunded schools, and the lack of local jobs forcing people to commute to cities to find work. Over the course of that one conversation, she moved on the scale from a 5 to an 8 on voting for Democrats.

A voter who wasn't sure about voting, because he'd never voted before and didn't know how. The volunteer's phone was dying, so they wrote the website down by hand: how to register and how to vote early. Kevin said the country is going the wrong way and called out the cost of living. He didn't know anything about the candidates. After hearing about Congressman Derek Tran, he said to put him down as a 9 for voting for him—then gave his number so someone could call back and make sure he got his ballot.

We knew winning this election was the critical first step, not the end game.

I hope you feel extraordinarily proud of what we’ve built together. Because nothing we accomplished this year ends with the midterm elections. Every dollar donated helped power campaigns and our organizing work in critical races. Every door knocked and voter conversation had has given us and the greater Democratic ecosystem important learnings about voters for future election cycles. Every key win made possible by these conversations and grassroots funding is ground gained in the tough presidential election ahead.

Because of you, this work mattered in the 2026 midterms, and it will matter for the 2028 cycle—which starts now. We’ve got a strategy that starts today for keeping the conversations going, building on our majorities, and changing how campaigns and government relate to real people.
